Marta Lichlyter took her first ceramic class in Norway in 2002 from Helena Brink. Helena has been making and painting pottery commercially with her husband Kristian for 30 years. Marta has focused on creating Raku pottery. You can see her work in the Gallery and Store.

Guy Watson also took classes from Helena but mostly focused on instruction from Kristian. Kristian is a commercial potter and a master at the wheel, With much appreciated patience he helped Guy learn to throw and create original glazes.

From Norway to New Mexico--

In 2002 Guy and Marta made a studio in the basement of their 1913 Norwegian home. An old electric kiln was rebuilt, work counters added and leaks in the walls plugged. Between them Guy and Marta produced earthenware pottery from local clay. They also created many of their own glazes. Some of the pieces from Norway are on sale in the Gallery and Store. In 2005 they moved back to the US and settled in Albuquerque.  A new studio was created. Outside, a Raku kiln was built. The results of their artistry can be found in the Gallery and Store. Guy and Marta also display their creations at New Mexico art festivals.
